In response to a growing older adult population in the Upper Perkiomen Valley area, Grand View Hospital opened an outpatient clinic Thursday at the Main Street Medical Center, 300 Seventh St., Pennsburg.
Services include X-ray and laboratory tests. Also in the building are the Grand View Community Nurse offices and a display and service area for the hospital’s medical equipment supplies subsidiary, Grand View Medical.
In the X-ray unit, a technologist will be available to take routine films such as chest and spine.
The films are sent to the hospital twice each day to be interpreted by a radiologist.
The laboratory is staffed by a medical technologist. According to Scott Campbell, hospital spokesman, some tests will be processed at the clinic while others will be handled at Grand View.
The clinic and medical supplies will be open 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The home care nursing unit, which has been in the building since June, will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The eight-member staff visits patients at home. Under a doctor’s orders, the nurses and aides take pulse, draw blood and do other routine checks.
The unit was previously in the Pennsburg Civic Building.
