In 1996, Grand View’s pediatric unit expanded its services to include CHOP Connection, a partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With the addition of CHOP Connection, an enhanced level of pediatric care became available to the families Grand View served in a setting that was both convenient and comfortable.
Staffed 24 hours a day by CHOP pediatricians, the unit offered pediatric specialty services – including pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric neurology, developmental pediatrics, and pediatric cardiology – on an outpatient basis, and also allowed the referring Grand View pediatrician or family physician to remain a vital part of the child’s care.
Grand View Hospital continues its partnership with CHOP, expanding into areas of expertise with its neonatal care program and advanced pediatric cardiology treatment. Grand View’s new state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is equipped with six critical-care bassinets with access to CHOP neonatologists and specially trained nurses around the clock. In addition, CHOP Connection offers a regional outpatient pediatric cardiology clinic staffed with CHOP cardiology sub-specialists for convenient care for families in the Grand View service area.
