Heart Health Day
Hundreds of people of all ages turned out for ‘Heart Health Day’ hosted by Grand View Hospital on February 2, at the Montgomery Mall in honor of American Heart Month. The event was free and featured cardiologists from Buxmont Cardiology Associates and Alderfer Travis Cardiology answering questions one-on-one. Grand View offered free health screenings, including cholesterol readings, blood pressure checks and heart risk assessments.
WNPV radio broadcasted live from the event with cardiologists Todd Alderfer, MD and Jeff Wilkins, MD, hosting their health program, ‘The Beat Goes On.
Interactive ‘Move and Groove’ activities included Tai Chi with Grand View instructor Ben Caccavale and a fitness workout with Dr. Drill. Performances by American Gymnastics & Cheer, Irish dance by Reel Colleens, and a demonstration by the award-winning Bungee Jumpers Jump Rope Team motivated everyone to get fit. Other special activities including a trek through the mall with Grand View’s Stroke Program and Vascular Care Coordinator Denise Kistler, RN, a heart health scavenger hunt, and an obstacle course.
